The 105th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge is just 100 days away.
Defending Indianapolis 500 champion Takuma Sato revealed his likeness on the Borg Warner at a ceremony at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum and was joined by team owners, Bobby Rahal and Mike Lanigan.
Speaking to IndyCar.com at the unveiling, Sato commented saying:
I am thrilled to once again have my face become a permanent fixture on the Borg-Warner Trophy. “William’s work is extraordinary, and it is amazing how much detail he can fit into the sterling silver sculptures. The effort he puts into making each individual winners’ personality and character is quite special, and it was an honor to experience this thorough and remarkable process once again.
It was announced earlier today that PeopleReady will serve as primary sponsor to Takuma Sato for the 105th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge which takes place on May 30.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway officials hope that fans will be able to attend this year’s race after fans missed last year’s race due to global COVID-19 pandemic.
