The 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season comes down to double points this weekend with season finale GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma.
Four drivers realistically remain in the title fight, the four Team Penske drivers, Josef Newgarden, Helio Castroneves and Will Power and Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon. In a Twitter poll conducted by Paddock Eye earlier this week, which asked of the top four in the championship who will win the championship, the results showed.
53% of those who took part in the poll say that Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon in the No.9 NTT DATA Honda will win his fifth Verizon IndyCar Series championship on Sunday.
35% say that current championship leader Josef Newgarden from Team Penske will win the championship.
Newgarden currently leads the championship by three points over Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon.
Helio Castroneves who Paddock Eye understands will remain with Team Penske full-time in the Verizon IndyCar Series in 2018 received 12% while reigning series champion Simon Pagenaud received no votes.
