Daniel Ricciardo says he felt it was the right time for him seek a new challenge in his Formula One career as he prepares to leave Aston Martin Red Bull Racing for the new challenge of the Renault Sport F1 Team.
The Australian announced on Friday that he will join Nico Hulkenberg at the Renault Sport F1 Team from 2019 onwards.
In a video posted on Twitter on Saturday morning, Ricciardo thanked Red Bull Racing and Red Bull as a company who have played a huge role in his Formula One career up until this point.
Ricciardo said he is excited to be joining Renault and that he still has nine or ten races left with Aston Martin Red Bull Racing and that they plan to kick some *** for the rest of the year and end his time with Red Bull in as strong a position as possible.
The Australian has collected 29 podiums, seven victories and two pole positions during his time with Red Bull Racing.
