Reigning Verizon IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon who drives the No.9 Target Chevrolet for Chip Ganassi Racing believes that the lap record at Watkins Glen will be broken next month due to the down-force levels and the new surface.

Dixon tweeted:

Looks like practice today will end early due to the rain

The New Zealander who is chasing his 40th Verizon IndyCar Series victory also took to his official Instagram commenting by saying:

Loved being back on track today at the Glen. So fast with the new surface and the current downforce. The track record is going to get smashed! 📸 cred @wgi1948 #teamtarget #teamchevy#indycar #⚡️
