Chip Ganassi Racing Managing Director Mike Hull says there is light at the end of the tunnel which will allow the NTT IndyCar Series return to racing in a safe manner. The series have contacted teams and discussed a way forward as states begin to lift COVID 19 restrictions.
The NTT IndyCar Series are preparing to go racing for the Genesys 600 at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday June 6 behind closed doors as a TV only event.
Speaking to Paddock Eye on Sunday evening, Hull said:
IndyCar’s working hard on their plan to return to racing in a stay safe manner. They have contacted the teams for collective information to help, so expect a positive summation. Our expectation is to see detail soon. In terms of the total crew member number, there hasn’t been a document that outlines the number or the means. Excited to being able to see some light at the end of the tunnel due to our team’s vigilance under the stay at home order. Our Indy CGR Team of three will be back to work soon with renewed preparation for 2020 racing.
