Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal who drives the No.15 United Rentals Honda in the NTT IndyCar Series says that the series is attracting the likes of seven-time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson, Supercar champion Scott McLaughlin and multiple Formula One podium finisher Romain Grosjean because in IndyCar they get to experience pure racing.

Speaking during Thursday’s pre-season Media Day, Rahal who finished sixth in points in the 2020 NTT IndyCar Series championship said that in IndyCar there are no electronics aids like there are in Formula One and the opportunity to win races is across the board and not if you are driving a Mercedes.

As for his team, Rahal says he is focused on the No.15 United Rentals Honda crew and getting the best out of the car for the team as they want to iron out a few of the issues that they experienced during the 2020 season.

Rahal was asked about the possibility of the team running a third car for select races in 2021, he said that this decision ultimately is down to the ownership of the team and that he is just focused on the season ahead.
