The NTT IndyCar Series heads south this weekend for the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg, round two of the 2021 season following an action-packed season-opening Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park last weekend which was won by Chip Ganassi Racing’s new signing Alex Palou in the No.10 SEGI.TV Honda.

The Spaniard has been extremely fast through pre-season testing and was quick in qualifying and the race and showed why team owner Chip Ganassi was right to put his faith in him.

Palou will be one driver to watch this weekend as will defending series champion Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda. Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden will be aiming to do a hat-trick in St Pete having taken victory here last season and in 2019.

Arrow McLaren SP’s Pato O’Ward had a great race in Barber last week and was extremely quick in St Pete last season where he finished the race on the podium in second place. The Mexican will be hoping to continue his strong start to the season this weekend.

How will Colton Herta get on this weekend and Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin who returns to the scene of his first NTT IndyCar Series race which took place last October.
