Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda is going for his fifth Verizon IndyCar Series championship at the season finale Grand Prix of Sonoma.
The Iceman goes into the race with a 29 point lead in the championship over Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi in the No.27 NAPA Auto Parts Honda.
Dixon can win the championship if he wins the race regardless of what Rossi does.
He can still win the championship if Rossi wins the race and he finishes in second place, in fact if Rossi finishes the race in fourth place, Dixon can still be crowned champion if he fimoshes tenth.
The key for Dixon is that he can’t lose more than 28 points to Rossi this weekend.
