Chip Ganassi Racing Managing Director Mike Hull says that he was told just after the race in Portland on Sunday that in each of the 16 races this season, the team had three cars in the top ten.

Chip Ganassi Racing has scored eight races this season, half of the races on the calendar. Speaking to Paddock Eye following the race, team owner Chip Ganassi said that winning his 15th championship is right up there as they also want to finish 1-2 in the season, and that is what they have strived to do ever since they signed Alex Zanardi and Jimmy Vasser.

Marcus Ericsson won the season-opening race in St. Petersburg in March. In May, Alex Palou took his first season victory at the IMS road course, the GMR Grand Prix of Indianapolis.

The Spaniard followed this up with back-to-back victories in Detroit, Road America, and Mid-Ohio. Scott Dixon won back-to-back races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course and followed it up with victory at World Wide Technology Raceway. At the same time, Alex Palou rounded out the championship-winning in Portland with one race to go at Laguna Seca, where he won last season.

Palou capped off a great season, leading 69 of the 110-lap race. Team owner Chip Ganassi confirmed on Sunday that Alex Palou will remain with the team next season, while CHip Ganassi Racing Managing Director Mike Hull said that the team would announce other drivers in the coming weeks.
