Team Penske’s Helio Castroneves in the Acura Dpi says that following today’s practice session at the Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course ahead of Sunday’s Acura Sports Car Challenge thhat it was definitely a learning curve.
Speaking to Paddock Eye during a Zoom conference call after ending practice fastest the Brazilian said that last year at Mid-Ohio there were braking markers whereas this year they have disappeared.
Castroneves said that he is working with his team mates to figure out the best place for braking to get the maximum out of the car.
Juan Pablo Montoya was fastest on Friday while Castroneves was quickiest today.
Paddock Eye asked Castroneves about his return to IndyCar next weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course for Arrow McLaren SP filling in for Oliver Askew however he would not be drawn on the topic saying he is focused on the race at Mid-Ohio.
