The Toyota Gazoo WRC team head into the 2018 season aiming to build on a strong return to the World Rally Championship with the Yaris WRC.
The team took their maiden victory in 2017 at Rally Sweden which was just their second event back in the WRC when Yari Matti Latvala took victory. Esapekka Lappi took victory in Finland, the team’s home event.
For 2018, Toyota managed a major coupe by luring Ott Tanak away from World Rally Champion M-Sport and speaking to Paddock Eye at the Autosport International Show on Thursday, Toyota Gazoo Racing managing director, Tommi Makinen told us that he believes that Ott Tanak can match and even beat what he did with M-Sport last season with Toyota in 2018.
M-Sport Ford will have their hands full in 2018 with Toyota, Citroen and Hyundai all biting at their heels so the Cumbria based outfit will have to work even harder to stay ahead of the competition in 2018.
