The 106th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge takes place in six weeks’ time and while we wait to find out who the 33rd driver on the grid will be, one thing that remains the same is how the winning driver will celebrate.

A tradition that has been in place since 1956, has seen the winner of the Indianapolis 500 drink milk in Victory Lane at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The first driver to taste the milk in Victory Lane was Louis Meyer in 1936, the victory was Meyer’s third win with him becoming the first three-time winner of the Indianapolis 500.
