The opening morning of NTT IndyCar Series Spring Training at the Circuit of the Americas on Tuesday saw not many laps completed by the drivers due to low temperatures meaning the Firestone tires were not at the optimum operating window.
Most drivers elected to use the morning session to carry out install laps and system checks.
There has been heavy in Austin overnight which has made the freshly replaced Circuit of the Americas extra slippery.
Arrow McLaren SP driver Oluver Askew described the track as ridiculous slippery this morning and said that the surface is a lot different to what he raced on here a few years ago.
Askew also reported that the circuit is a lot less bumpy.
Testing continues this afternoon when the weather forecast is due to improve.
