Formula One and NASCAR are facing the potential of a pretty big law suit by Penske Entertainment Corporation, owners of the Indianapolis Motofor two outright trade mark infringeme.

‘The Greatest Spectacle In Racing’ is a trademark owned by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and NTT INDYCAR SERIES.

On February 19th 2024, NASCAR’s official X (formerly Twitter) posted an image of Daytona International Raceway ahead of the Daytona 500, with the caption above it saying ‘The Greatest Spectacle In Racing’

On Saturday, once again, the trademark was infringed upon when Sportscentre on ESPN mentioned The Greatest Spectacle In Motorsports’ to describe the 2024 Formula One season which gets underway next week.

This is the second time in less than a year that Formula One has used this and Paddock Eye understands that Penske Entertainment are far from impressed and are exploring their options in relation to taking legal action against both NASCAR and Formula One.
