Ireland’s Craig Breen heads into the 2017 World Rally Championship with a full-time programme with the factory Citroen Racing team following a successful stint with the team in 2016.
In only his third rally in the WRC, Breen finished in on the podium in third place at Rally Finland.
The Waterford native competed in 6 events in 2016 and finished in the top ten in five of the rallies including his podium finish in Finland.
Breen will compete in a Citroen DS3 before switching to the new C3 with the Abu Dhabi Total World Rally Team alongside Northern Ireland’s Kris Meeke and French driver Stephane Lefebvre.
Breen ended the 2016 WRC season in 10th place in the championship standings on 36 points. The Irishman will be hoping to use his strong 2016 season as a foundation for success with Citroen in 2017. The opening round of the 2017 World Rally Championship get underway from January 19-22 with the Monte Carlo Rally.
