Ed Carpenter Racing’s Rinus Veekay in the No.21 Sonax Autogeek Chevrolet is on course to be named 2020 NTT IndyCar Series Rookie of The Year.
The Dutch driver who made his series debut at the Geneyes 300 scored his maiden NTT P1 Award at the Harvest Grand Prix race one on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course eselier this month.
Veekey went on to score his first IndyCar podium with a third place finish.
Veekay goes into Sunday’s Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg with a 54 point lead over Dale Coyne with Team Goh’s Alex Palou.
For Veekay to be crowned Rookie of The Year he just has to start Sunday’s 100 lap race.
