Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen was fastest at the end of the opening session as track activity got underway in Bahrain on Friday with a time of 01:31.394sending the session just ahead of Valtteri Bottas and McLaren Racing’s Lando Norris.
Defending champion Lewis Hamilton was the fourth fastest just ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc while Sergio Perez was sixth for Red Bull Racing just ahead of Pierre Gasly and Carlos Sainz.
Daniel Ricciardo and Antonio Giovinazzi rounded out the top ten. Kimi Raikkonen was eleventh for Alfa Romeo Racing just ahead of Aston Martin Coginzant F1 Team Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll.
It was a great session for Yuki Tsunoda of Alpha Tauri who was 14th just ahead of Alpine’s Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso while George Russell and Nicholas Latifi were 17th and 18th respectively. Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin rounded out the order in 19th and 20th respectively.
