Defending Formula One world champion Max Verstappen took his second Miami victory in succession as he led home teammate and pole-sitter Sergio Perez home to an Oracle Red Bull Racing 1-2 finish in Sunday’s race.
It was a great race once again for Aston Martin Cognizant F1 Team’s Fernando Alonso, who made it four podium finishes in five races for the Spaniard who came home just ahead of the Mercedes AMG F1 Team’s George Russell, while Carlos Sainz, despite getting a 5s time penalty for speeding the pit-lane finished the race in fifth place.
Lewis Hamilton came from 13th on the grid to finish in sixth place, just ahead of Charles Leclerc of Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly, giving the Alpine F1 Team double points finish.
Kevin Magnussen, who started the race from fourth place, came home in tenth place just ahead of Yuki Tsunoda and Lance Stroll, while Valtteri Bottas ended the race in 13th just ahead of Williams Racing’s Alex Albon. Nico Hulkenberg was 15th, just ahead of Guanyu Zhou. Lando Norris ended the race in P17 just ahead of Nyck De Vries while Oscar Piastri ended the race 19th.
Logan Sergeant rounded out the order in 20th.
