Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen stayed fastest in free practice two on Friday ahead of Sunday’s Formula One 2021 season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sakhir circuit with a time of 01:30.847s ending the session just ahead of McLaren’s Lando Norris who set a 01:30.942s.
Lewis Hamilton was third fastest with a 01:31.082s just ahead of Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz who set a time of 01:31.122s.
Valtteri Bottas was fifth fastest for the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team with a time of 01:31.218s just ahead of McLaren-Mercedes Daniel Ricciardo who set a 01:31.230s just ahead of Yuki Tsunoda who set a time of 01:31.294s.
Lance Stroll was eighth fastest for the Aston Martin Cognizant F1 Team who set a time of 01:31.393s just ahead of Pierre Gasly while Sergio Perez rounded out the top ten.
Esteban Ocon was 11th just ahead of Chalres Leclerc and Antonio Giovinazzi and Sebastian Vettel. Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen were 15th and 16th respectively after Alfa Romeo Racing was able to get Kimi Raikkonen back on track after repairing the Finn’s car following a wall tap for the Iceman early in the session.
George Russell and Mick Schumacher were 17th and 18th just ahead of Nicholas Latifi and Nikita Mazepin.
