Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel could be banned from participating in the Brazilian Grand Prix as a result of his radio rant during Sunday’s Mexican Grand Prix, if race director Charlie Whiting decides to take the matter to the World Motorsports Council.
According to article 151C of the Formula One sporting regulations which relates to a drivers conduct, by making the comments that he did over the radio Vettel has brought the sport into disrepute.
It is unclear whether Mr Whiting will take the matter any further but if he does decide to do so Vettel could face a race ban for the Brazilian Grand Prix or a fine. Despite being awarded third place, the German was later handed a 10 second penalty for blocking Daniel Ricciardo and as a result finished the race in fifth place.
Paddock Eye will of course bring any updates on this story.
