Sebastian Vettel led the way in the second free practice session ahead of Sunday’s Mexican Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver set a fastest time of 01:19.790s ending the session just 0.004s ahead of reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton.
World championship leader Nico Rosberg was third fastest in the second Mercedes with Kimi Raikkonen who set a fastest time of 01:20.259s in fourth place.
Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo was fifth fastest with a time of 01:20.448s ending the session just ahead of Sahara Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg. Max Verstappen was seventh with a time of 01:20.619s ending the session just ahead of Valtteri Bottas in eighth place while Carlos Sainz was ninth.
McLaren Honda’s Fernado Alonso rounded out the top ten with a fastest time of 01:21.003s. Daniil Kvyat ended the session just outside the top ten in 11th place while Jenson Button was 12th for McLaren Hona.
Felipe Massa was 13th fastest for the Williams Martini Racing Team ending the session just ahead of Renault Sport F1 Team’s Kevin Magnussen.
Sahara Force India’s Sergio ‘Checo’ Perez ended the session in 15th place with a fastest time of 01:21.579s. Jolyon Palmer was 16th fastest in the second Renault. Pascal Werhelein was 17th fastest just ahead of Marcus Ericsson in the Sauber while Felipe Nasr was 19th.
Romain Grosjean was 20th for the Haas F1 Team ending the session just ahead of Manor Racing Esteban Ocon while Esteban Gutierrez rounded out the order in 22nd place.
