Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel set the fastest time of winter testing so far on Thursday morning, as the penultimate day of the Formula One preseason got underway.
The German who took over the car from Kimi Raikkonen completed 60 laps with a fastest time of 01:19.024s and ended the session just ahead of Mercedes Lewis Hamilton who completed 52 laps in the W08.
Esteban Ocon completed a half century of laps for Force India in the VJM10 setting the third fastest time of the morning with a 01:20.161s ending the morning just ahead of Toro Rosso’s Daniil Kvyat. Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo ended the session in fifth place in the RB13 completing 41 laps ending the session just ahead of the Haas F1 Team’s Kevin Magnussen who completed 45 laps in the RS.17.
Despite stopping on track twice this morning, Stoffel Vanddorne set the seventh fastest time with a 01:21.348s while Jolyon Palmer was eighth fastest for the Renault Sport F1 Team.
Marcus Ericsson was ninth fastest for the Sauber F1 Team while Lance Stroll rounded out the order for the Williams Martini Racing Team completing 85 laps in the FW40.
