The Verizon IndyCar Series teams were back in action at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Wednesday as practice continued for the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil.

Ed Carpenter Racing’s Ed Carpenter led the way as windy weather made for tricky conditions on track.

Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon in the No.9 NTT DATA Honda ended the day second place just ahead of Ed Carpenter Racing’s JR Hildebrand.

It was a great session for McLaren Honda Andretti driver Fernando Alonso who ended the day in fourth place.
