The Sahara Force India Formula One Team have confirmed that their 2017 car, the VJM-10 has passed all of the mandatory FIA crash tests ahead of the start of winter testing in Barcelona next month.
Paddock Eye understands that the team’s chassis passed the tests first time and the tub was built for the first time completely at the outfit’s Silverstone base.
Force India had their best ever season in Formula One in 2016 where they finished in fourth place in the championship ahead of the Williams Martini Racing team. Chief Operating Officer with the outfit Otmar Szafnauer says that the team are doing well on the build process of their cars.
The FIA state that only one car can be used for winter testing meaning that Sergio Perez and new signing Esteban Ocon will share the VJM-10 when testing gets underway on February 27 at the Barcelona Circuit Du Catalunya.
