Former Formula One driver and W Series Advisory Board director David Coulthard says the series are looking at supporting Formula One in the US and Mexico as early as next season.
The W Series had a fantastic inaugural season in 2019 with Britain’s Jamie Chadwick winning the championship. Jamie is heavily involved in Formula One in her role of development driver with the Rokit Williams Racing team.
Speaking at an industry event in London this week David Coulhard who drove for Williams, McLaren and Red Bull driver confirmed that the W Series are in talks with Formula One Management about supporting the sport at several races next season including in the US and Mexico.
Coulthard confirmed however that financial constraints may have an affect on the races that they join Formula One for.
W Series were the support category for the 2019 DTM championship, a partnership which was a huge success.
