The Honda Indy Toronto announced on Friday that their race which was due to take place from Friday 10 – 12 July has been postponed due to COVID 19 pandemic.
Green Savoree Racing Promotions, the organizers of the race have said that they are exploring alternative dates for the race.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway will host round one of their three race feature with the GMR Grand Prix of Indianapolis on the road course on July 4 while the following week IndyCar were set to cross the border to Canada and the on to Iowa for the double header at Iowa Speedway.
The postponement of the Honda Indy Toronto opens up a space for an additional race which could see Watkins Glen return to the NTT IndyCar Series schedule for the first time since 2017.
It is unclear whether or not the NTT IndyCar Series will schedule a replacement for the Honda Indy Toronto but with Watkins Glen available it could be an ideal venue as it would allow for social distancing given the size of the facility.
We will just have to wait and see what happens and if the NTT IndyCar Series decide to replace the race in Toronto.
