The Verizon IndyCar Series returns to Watkins Glen International this weekend for the IndyCar Grand Prix.
It is the first time since 2010 that the series has competed at the New York circuit with it replacing Boston which was meant to host a race but we all know what happened there. The Glen has been repaved recently which will mean higher speeds for IndyCar.
The circuit consists of 11 turns and is 3.37 mile road course located in New York state and plays host to the penultimate race of the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series season.
This weekend, drivers have 10 push to pass activations for 20 seconds each. The first 45 minute Verizon IndyCar practice session gets underway at 11am on Friday morning with the second practice taking place from 3:30pm – 5:30pm.
On Saturday 2nd September the third practice takes place from 11 – 11:45am. Qualifying for the 60 lap race takes place from 3pm.
Warm up for Sunday’s race takes place from 10:30 – 11am.
