Team Penske’s Simon Pagenaud in the No.22 Menards Chevrolet says that he believes the team has a strong race car that will bring them to the front of the field in Sunday’s 105th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge.

Speaking to Paddock Eye during Media Day on Thursday, the 2019 Indianapolis 500 winner who starts the race from 26th place, the Frenchman said that it is not a case of working as a team with his fellow Penske drivers he just wants to get on with the job at hand and that is to win his second 500.

Josef Newgarden who was also on the call said that it is a case of executing everything right on the day in terms of pit stops.

The Tennessee native said that across the team there was some in consistency over qualifying weekend last weekend and that was problematic and they have a lot to do and a lot of questions to answer but that they won’t be able to find all the answers.

Pagenaud also said that they are not in the business of pointing fingers.
