Paretta Autosport’s Simona De Silvestro in the No.16 KiwiCo Chevrolet was encouraged by her performance in Sunday’s Honda Indy 200 at the Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course.

The Swiss driver came from 25th on the grid to finish the race in 18th and speaking following the action she said:

I felt like I was strong again, doing things I used to do and moving forward. We were passing cars, we were moving forward and that encourages us a lot. There’s always things to iron out and get better but I think the results will come. I look forward to Nashville because I feel like we are getting to where we need to be.

Team owner and Team Principal of Paretta Autosport, Beth Paretta was delighted with the performance of the team on Sunday.

The #16 Paretta Autosport Chevrolet crew really worked hard today to get a P18 finish. I’m proud of Simona, who just kept working at it lap by lap and had great pace. She was faster than a lot of people ahead of her for a lot of the race. If the yellows had fallen differently, I think we would have been several spots further forward. I’m also proud of the fact that we got several ladies back in the saddle of pit stops and tire changes.

Next up for Paretta Autosport is the Music City Grand Prix which takes place from August 5-7.

Team owner Beth Paretta has revealed however, that the team may compete in other races during the 2022 NTT IndyCar Series season.
