Andretti Autosport are pushing ahead with plans to continue running a fourth entry in the Verizon IndyCar Series in 2017.
The team who have already confirmed Ryan Hunter Reay, Marco Andretti and Alexander Rossi for next season are working hard to ensure that they have a fourth car on the grid next season. When contacted by Paddock Eye on Monday, a spokesman for Andretti Autosport confirmed:
Plans remain underway for a fourth entry as we evaluate numerous opportunities and options.
Andretti Autosport took one victory in 2016 with rookie Alexander Rossi winning the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil.
Andretti Autosport have already confirmed that DHL will remain as primary sponsor to Ryan Hunter Reay with the American having committed his future to the team until the end of the 2020 season.
The Indianapolis based outfit have also confirmed that hhgregg will be the co-primary sponsor for Marco Andretti in 2017.
