The Real Heroes 400 takes place at Darlington Raceway at 3:30PM ET today as the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series returns to real life racing following a two month hiatus due to the COVID 19 global pandemic.
Hendrick Motorsports Jimmie Johnson in the No.48 Ally Racing Chevrolet Camaro said that he Hope’s that following today’s race at Darlington Raceway he hopes that they can pick up where they left off following a strong start to what is his final season as a full time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season.
Johnson said ahead of the race today that the drivers go into the event cold turkey due to no practice or qualifying ahead of the green flag.
In the first four races before the hiatus, Johnson had one top five, two top tens and a DNF and finds himself in fifth place in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series championship standings on 131 points. NASCAR have stated that they hope to run the remainder of the season.
