McLaren Formula One Team Principal Andreas Seidl says he believes that the Woking-based outfit are going to have a tight battle on their hands to hold onto third place in the Constructors championship with the rate of development that Ferrari are doing and he believes that the battle will be very intense starting with this weekend’s United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin Texas.
Speaking to Paddock Eye during a media availability session on Friday morning ahead of the opening practice session of the weekend, Seidl said that the team will be working extremely hard this weekend to keep Ferrari behind them both on track and in the Constructors championship.
With just seven and a half points between McLaren and Ferrari in McLaren’s favour the team are hoping to hit the ground running later today when Free Practice one gets underway.
Speaking to Paddock Eye about the fact that Formula One hasn’t race here since 2019, Seidl said that there are no concerns from McLaren’s side as they have competing at the track before and have plenty of data to draw information from.
