Rob Edwards, Chief Operating Officer with Andretti Autosport says that the team are super excited to be heading back to Iowa this weekend after a year away.
We’re super excited about this weekend with all of the work that has gone into making it a true event both on and off track. Between 2010 and 2015 Andretti Autosport used to own this race and while we’ve had good speed since then, we haven’t had the results. We will be looking to change that.”
Colton Herta in the No.26 Gainbridge Honda who started the Honda Indy Toronto from pole and finished rhw race in second place.
Speaking ahead of the races this weekend, Herta said:
I’m super excited to get to Iowa for the Hy-Vee INDYCAR Weekend. It’s great to see Iowa Speedway back on the schedule and it looks like the weekend is going to be jam-packed with action on and off the track. Hopefully, we can get a good result for the No. 26 Gainbridge Honda.”
Alexander Rossi in the No.27 NAPA Auto Parts AutoNation Honda is excited about the races in Iowa saying:
Looking ahead to Iowa this weekend, it is one of the most important weekends of the year as it is our only doubleheader of the season. We had a positive test there last month and I feel like we are more prepared for this event than we ever have been. There has been a lot of investment to get this race back on the schedule and I am looking forward to seeing all of the fans come out for the show.
Romain Grosjean in the No.28 DHL Honda is looking forward to his second short official experience which took place at World Wide Technology Raceway and speaking ahead of the weekend he said:
Iowa will be my second short oval after Gateway last year. I’m looking forward to continuing to learn and discover oval racing. I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a very exciting weekend for all the fans as a lot of effort has been made for a good show.
Devlin DeFrancesco in the No.29 PowerTap Andretti Steinbrenner Autosport Honda commented on the upcoming races saying:
Back to oval racing in Iowa for a doubleheader. I think finally advancing in qualifying at Toronto really motivated the crew. We’ll be looking to build consistency and the back-to-back races will give us that opportunity. I hope to make some progress in the No. 29 Andretti Steinbrenner PowerTap Honda.”
