Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing team co-owner Mike Lanigan said the No.15 SoliderStrong/TurnsForTroops Honda came off the trailer fast on Friday and that coupled with a great strategy helped Graham Rahal to take victory in both race 1 and 2 of the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit weekend.
Lanigan told the Verizon IndyCar Series mobile app:
We came off the trailer fast the confidence grew as weekend went and what a perfect race. We had great pit-stops, Graham was on a rail and everybody on the team did a great job.
Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing added a second car to their programme with the arrival of Oriol Servia for the Indianapolis 500 and both races in Detroit over the weekend.
Following his double in Detroit, Rahal heads to the Rainguard Water Sealers 600 at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend in sixth place in series standings on 251 points just eight behind Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden who finished race two on Sunday in second place behind Rahal.
Lanigan is hopeful that the double win over the weekend will mean a great Summer for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing and Graham Rahal. The Verizon IndyCar Series heads to Texas this weekend where Graham Rahal took victory here last year.
