The NTT IndyCar Series can expect McLaren Racing to become a permanent full time entry soon if not in 2020 but definitely 2021 as CEO Zak Brown has confirmed again that it is a matter of when and not if they entry the series.

The team return to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway next week with Fernando Alonso as they prepare to compete in the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge which takes place on May 26.

The company will use the outing to assess going full time in the series next season with two cars.

As it stands Fernando Alonso is only scheduled to compete in the Indianapolis 50p however this could potentially change particularly if the Spanaird wins the race to complete his motorsport triple crown.
