Dale Coyne Racing with HMD Motorsports David Malukas, the driver of the No.18 HMD Motorsports Honda was delighted with the job that his team did during qualifying for the Big Machine Music city Grand Prix on the streets of Nashville later today.
Malukas, who confirmed earlier this weekend that he will not return to Dale Coyne Racing in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES in 2024 set a fastest time of 01:15.8703s.
Speaking following the action, Malukas said:
“Today was a long day [due to rain delays], but we ended up fifth after an incredible job by the team. Everyone worked really hard, and we were able to get a great result. I’ve been feeling all season like our car works really well when the grip conditions are low, and that’s what we had today. Let’s see how the race goes tomorrow, hopefully we’ll have good race pace there as well.”
Sting Ray Robb in the No.51 Goodheart Biohaven Honda starts the race from the 12th row of the grid in 24th place and speaking following the action he commented saying:
“I’m not happy with our qualifying result today but the team did a good job, and we learned a lot. Hopefully it stays dry for the race tomorrow. Congrats to David (Malukas) my teammate for making it into the Firestone Fast 6, it’s a good result for team.”
