W Series CEO Catherine Bond Muir says that every driver who was involved in the sport during their inaugural season in 2019 wanted to come back for season two. Speaking to Paddock Eye at Autosport International on Friday Bond Muir said that for year two the series want to to the stories of the 18 drivers involved in the sport.
In year one there was great close racing and it has been important for the series that every driver wanted to be involved.
W Series heads to Russia this year and Bond Muir said that there have been wonderful enthusiasm for the series from within the country and she is looking forward to attending the race there. Russia has a fantastic heritage in sport and she hopes that the W Series can add to that.
Bond Muir said as a sport they want to grow the series and build the audience and in year one they had to answer questions about the series from journalists however for season two the ground work has been done and the detractors have been proved wrong and they can concentrate on telling the stories from the drivers point of view and producing more exciting racing.
Catherine said that she has great deal of admiration for Alejandro Agag and what he has done with Formula e and that from her point of view with the W Series she was delighted that they were in a position to work with an established motorsport category with the DTm, a relationship that continues for season two.
