Defending NTT IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon who drives the No.9 PNC Bank Honda for Chip Ganassi Racing says that race in Mid-Ohio on Sunday shows why the series has the best racing in the world.

Dixon took victory by just 0.0934s from his Chip Ganassi Racing team mate Felix Rosenqvist in the No.10 Clover Honda who picked up his first career podium in the NTT IndyCar Series having joined Dixon at Ganassi during the off season of 2018. Dixon said that he would have preferred to have won the race by 8 or 10s rather than fighting wheel to wheel with his team mate however he said that this is what the NTT IndyCar Series does best when it comes to on track competition.

The Iceman also confirmed that he was close to having to make an extra pit-stop as his tires were beginning to fall off however the New Zealander proved why he is a five time series champion and why he has won more than forty NTT IndyCar Series races during his impressive career.

Dixon is now just 62 points behind championship leader Josef Newgarden with a maximum 262 points on offer from the final four races of the season.

The Iceman said:

That’s what IndyCar racing is – it produces the best racing in the world
