Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon believes that the Verizon IndyCar Series is in for some damn good racing with the new universal aero-kits which are being introduced from the 2018 season.
Dixon and Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe were at Texas Motor Speedway earlier this week.
Speaking following the test, Dixon said that the cars are able to run much closer together and he hopes that this will enable his team to close the gap to Penske who were extremely dominant in 2017 with Chevrolet.
Dixon and Hinch went from Texas Motor Speedway to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway where they conducted a filming day on Wednesday before testing at the speedway for Honda.
Dixon said that he was excited to have been chosen to help Honda prepare for 2018 with Chip Ganassi Racing. The Iceman also believes that going to a universal kit will make the racing very tight.
