Defending NTT IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon who drives the No.9 PNC Bank Honda for Chip Ganassi Racing ended Friday’s warm up at Portland International Raceway in third place ahead of his championship rivals. The Iceman goes into this weekend’s race 70 points behind championship leader Josef Newgarden and with a maximum 158 points left on the table Dixon knows what he has to do and that is to try to win the final two races of the year.
Speaking following the track action on Friday the New Zealander said:
It’s nice not to have to worry about points. “Kind of just get after it, try to have a good weekend, see what happens in Laguna.
