Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal in the No.15 MiJack Honda did a fantastic job to score his first win of the season in the Firestone 600 at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday night.
Rahal took the race win by just 0.0080s ahead of James Hinchcliffe who had led the entire race and speaking following the race, Rahal commented by saying:
I didn’t want to go through this year without a win, On that last yellow, I was telling myself this could be my chance, you’d better get it done. We’re just lucky it all worked out.
The victory was Rahal’s first since Mid-Ohio last season season and as a result he has moved up to seventh place in the series standings on 394 points. Rahal went on to say:
On that last yellow, I was telling myself this could be my chance, you’d better get it done. We’re just lucky it all worked out.
The win was Rahal’s third podium of the season having finished the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama in third place while he also finished the Kohler Grand Prix in second place.
