Will Power who drives the No.12 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet secured his second race win in a row lat weekend at the Road America circuit in Wisconsin when he scored a sensational lights to flag victory having led 46 of 50 lap race.
Power also won the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit Race 2 which was the last race to be completed on the Verizon IndyCar Series calendar.
Power heads to Iowa Speedway next weekend for the Iowa Corn Indy in third place in the series standings on 294 points, 81 behind team mate and series points leader Simon Pagenaud who endured a tough weekend at Road America as a result of an engine issue. The Australian missed the opening race of the 2016 season the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg.
Three of Roger Penske’s drivers Simon Pagenaud, Helio Castroneves and Will Power occupy the top three in the Verizon IndyCar Series standings.
Simon Pagenaud has a big points lead however his tough race at Road America and with seven races remaining this season including the double points season finale in Sonoma means that the race for the 2016 championship is far from over.
