Team Penske were celebrating on Saturday evening as Will Power in the No.12 Verizon Chevrolet took the outfit’s 200th Verizon IndyCar Series victory. The Australian won in the perfect place too taking a lights to flag victory on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.
Penske are the most successful Verizon IndyCar Series teams with the Captain having won 16 Indianapolis 500 championships, the most of any other team in series history, the Captain is aiming to add to that tally in two weeks time when he fields four cars for the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil.
Helio Castroneves returns to the No.3 Chevrolet for the month of May and finished in sixth place in the IndyCar Grand Prix of Indianapolis and is aiming to win his fourth Indy 500 race with the Captain.
Will Power not only took Penske’s 200th Verizon IndyCar Series win but he also scored his 30th win for the Captain.
Speaking about the milestone achievement, Roger Penske said:
