Double Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso was delighted with his first day in a Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series car after he drove Jimmie Johnson’s No.48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet at the Bahrain International Circuit on Monday.
The Spaniard who ended his Formula One career on Sunday at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was joined by the Jimmie Johnson who drove the 2013 Mercedes powered McLaren F1 car.
Speaking following the day of testing, Alonso said:
