NTT IndyCar Series driver Robert Wickens says that his goal is to return racing in 2020.

The Canadian was speaking at a press conference at the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg as he made his return to the paddock for the first time since his accident during the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway six months ago.

The Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports driver received a wonderful reception on his return and said that he wants to be back racing in the NTT IndyCar Series next season but knows that there is a long road ahead of him.

Wickens revealed that if he can’t race in IndyCar he will race in another series but is well aware of the modifications that can be made in relation to steering wheel controls in the cockpit.

The Canadian spent Friday’s action at the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg on the pit stand talking to his team mate James Hinchcliffe during the sessions.
