Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Robert Wickens who drives the No.6 Lucas Oil Honda says he knows why Pocono Raceway is know as the ‘Tricky Triangle’ after testing there this week.
Speaking about the test, the Canadian who is currently in sixth place in the championship on 380 points he said:
It’s a challenging place, man. I’ve learned now why they call it the ‘Tricky Triangle’ for a reason, but it honestly it was. I enjoyed it. It is super challenging. It took me a long time to get confident around it.
Wickens who joined the Verizon IndyCar Series ahead of the start of the 2018 season partnering his good friend and fellow Canadian James Hinchcliffe at Schmidt Peterson Motorsports has scored one Verizon P1 Award and four podium finishes including a third place finish at his home track in Toronto.
Wickens went on to say:
The fact that I was able to test here before the race weekend was huge for me. Without that, it would be pretty hard to get up to speed in such a short amount of time like we have for the INDYCAR oval weekend.
Wickens has led 187 laps so far this season but has yet to enter victory lane in the Verizon IndyCar Series however it is just a matter of when and not if he takes his first win in the series.
