Williams Martini Racing deputy Team Principal Claire Williams has told Channel 4 F1 that her team have a timeline of when they want to see improvements in their on track performances during the 2018 season.
The Grove based outfit are the only team yet to score points this season and head into qualifying for the Azerbaijan on the back foot following Sergey Sirotkin’s accident in practice this morning however the good news is that the car will be ready to be out on track for the start of Q1.
Williams confirmed that the team were not happy with the car from pre-season testing and they have identified the areas where they need to make improvements. Williams Chief Technical Officer Paddy Lowe has also confirmed that the team have located the areas where they need to improve and that fundamentally the FW41 is good car.
There is now overnight fix but if any team can come back to the front, the Williams Martini Racing team can.
Williams also said that the criticism of her team’s drivers in media needs to stop. The issues that they are having are nothing to do with the drivers it is that the car is under performing.
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix is a great hunting ground for Lance Stroll as this is where he finished on the podium behind Valtteri Bottas last season.
