Stefan Wilson says he hopes that Saturday’s NTT IndyCar Series iRacing Challenge season finale at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway will lead to a race seat for the 104th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge which this year due to the global COVID 19 pandemic has been rescheduled for Sunday August 23.
Wilson will drive the No.25 Omologato/Expedia VIP Access Chevrolet in Saturday’s 70 lap First Responder 175 presented by GMR NTT IndyCar Series iRacing Challenge season finale at the Brickyard and starts the race from eleventh place on the grid just behind defending Indianapolis 500 winner Simon Pagenaud in the No.22 Menards Team Penske Chevrolet.
Juncos Racing team owner Ricardo Juncos said on Friday that he hopes that the new relationship with Stefan lasts well into the future.
It is possible that Juncos Racing could attempt to qualify two drivers for the 104th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge with Stefan joining Kyle Kaiser at the team provided that they can put the sponsorship together in order to run a competitive programme for the Month of August at the Brickyard.
The NTT IndyCar Series iRacing Challenge at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is live on NBCSN on Saturday from 2.30PM ET and is also live on Sky Sports F1HD in the UK and Ireland at 7.30PM.
