Team Penske’s Simon Pagenaud who drives the No.22 Menards Chevrolet in the NTT IndyCar Series has had a phenomenal 2019 season.
The year started out with rumours that Alexander Rossi was waiting in the wings as a potential replacement for the Frenchman however all that talk ended when we got to the month of May.
Pagenaud who won the champion with Team Penske in 2016 took victory at the Grand Prix of Indianapolis and followed this up with victory in 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500.
The Frenchman went on to take victory in Toronto and scored a podium finish at the Tricky Triangle at Pocono Raceway where he finished third.
Pagenaud heads to the double points season finale Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca next weekend 42 points behind championship leader Josef Newgarden.
