Chip Ganassi Racing and PNC Bank, the primary sponsor to six-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, announced on Friday ahead of the penultimate race of the 2023 season in Portland that the application process for their 2024 Women In Motorsports Initiative powered by PNC Bank are now open.
The initiative has been highly successful since its inception for the 2022 season. College students from around the United States are encouraged to apply no later than Sept. 30, 2023. To learn more and apply for the fully-funded program, please visit http://chipganassiracing.com/wim2024.
Chip Ganassi Racing has already leveraged the talent introduced by the program, bringing former intern Rebecca Hutton onboard full-time within the team’s engineering division and speaking about her experience Hutton said:
“The Women In Motorsports initiative has given me the opportunity to transition from intern to full time within one year. “Angela Ashmore was my mentor during the internship and she continues to be a big influence on me now. You can already see the influence this initiative has made not only at Chip Ganassi Racing, but within the paddock. It’s all thanks to programs like Women In Motorsports powered by PNC Bank and it continues to accelerate the change.”
Interns will be fully integrated into CGR’s NTT INDYCAR SERIES teams, including six-time champion Scott Dixon and the No. 9 PNC Bank crew.
